He is an unusual choice for he is one of the last few members of a Caste called the Pallidin, who have been despised for millennia. Hundreds of thousands of years ago the Domainger Drone Caste were genetically manipulated by the intellectually superior Pallidin into becoming perfect world conquering bio-weapons. Since, they have spread, dominating Galaxy after Galaxy. However despite their vast intelligence, the Pallidin tend to be socially inept and now find themselves almost bullied out of existence by their own, physically greater, creations.Zy’Thra-Lyn was not reared with the rest of the Pallidin, but in the Dominion’s Military Academy where as an infant he suckled along side an alpha of the Drone caste. The two were raised together and an unbreakable brotherly bond developed between them so that when they became of age, they also became Sworn Brothers. The Drone, Veddtha, went on to become Varda, the Dominion’s most prestigious male title reserved for the outright winner of the Royal Rut. This bloody Championship is held every five years to find the top hundred Drones, whose prize is to be allowed to Sire offspring with the Dominion’s Princesses and the Queen until the next competition. Veddtha has been Varda for many years. He attributes this to the fact that he has always had Zy’Thra-Lyn on hand to heal his injures although he is without doubt a formidable champion.Between them, the Brother’s discover that corruption and greed have polluted their Civilization, weakening it, and rendering it vulnerable to the kind of subversive attack that no army can prevent. In seeking to discover the cause of the internal rot, and to save their Dominion they become embroiled in desperate forays and thrilling adventures, meeting wondrous new beings who give them the strength to continue against seemingly impossible odds. There are plots, twists and surprises through to the last few pages, along with heart-stopping excitement, a touch of sensuous and romantic heat, a dollop of frantic desperation, a hint of psychological terror, a smidgen of mild horror, a plethora of moments of dark humour, and a few of pathos and tragedy. It is probably best described as a Speculative Space Sci-Fantasy, which takes place in a universe of alternate realities. Please be aware that this novel contains adult themes, scenes and language.
